Libyan conference on Darfur is successful

The Secretary of African Union Affairs said on Sunday that Darfur conference which held in Libya was successful.

In a press conference with the two envoys of the African Union, Salem Ahmed Salem and the UN Secretary General, Ian Ellison, he said the conference was a message addressed to the Sudanese rivals to resort to the peace option.

A letter from the leader to Sultan Qabus Ben Saed of Oman

 
Sultan Qabus Ben Saed of Oman received in Muscat Tuesday the personal envoy at the GPC for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation, as a personal envoy of the leader of the revolution.

The Leader receives the Portuguese State Minister for Foreign Affairs
The Leader of the Revolution received Wednesday evening the Portuguese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Luis Marco Philippe and his accompanying delegation. During this audience, the Portuguese State Minister praised the Leader's pioneering role in establishing the Great African Union and his continuous endeavors to establish peace and secure stability in the African continent.


Foreigners leaving Libya not true, says source
A source at the Manpower and Training has refuted some news reports that a great number of foreigners departed Libya.

The source pointed out that the arrival and departure of foreigner is as normal as before.


Libya’s tourist projects cost 4,771,560,700 billion Dinar
Tourism investment in Libya has attracted more than 73 national and foreign investors last year, the General Board of Tourism reported.

Libya says no smoking in public places. The General People’s Committee has banned smoking in public places, cinemas, public transportation, airports, hospitals, schools and educational institutions.

125,480 tourists visited Libya in 2006. The number of tourists who visited Libya in 2006 has reached 125,480 tourists, the General Board for Tourism have announced.
